Decorah School Board sets public hearing date regarding Instructional Support Program Levy

The Decorah Community School Board has set November 14, 6:00 p.m. as the time for a public hearing regarding their intent for continued participation in the Instructional Support Levy. This levy, that includes property tax and income surtax, would be renewed for an additional five years for FY 2013 through FY 2018. Currently the levy is generating $671,350(annual), and its approval would mean continued support for the General Fund.
The board will provide official public notice regarding the hearing.

The board is expected to approve the levy at their next meeting after the hearing,unless there is a public petition with signatures as specified by state statute that would call for a special election.
