Burning ban remains in effect in Winneshiek County

The State Fire Marshal and all the Winneshiek County fire departments have issued a ban on all open burning, effective Immediately.

This means no person shall engage in open burning except as permitted by Iowa Code 100.40(3) until conditions improve for the ban to be lifted.  If anyone has any questions about the burning ban, they can contact Steve Vanden Brink with the Decorah Fire Department at (563) 380-2581 or they can contact their local fire department.
