The NICC Board of Trustees is offering the job of President to NICC Interim President Liang Chee Wee.
Wee has worked as Calmar Campus Provost at NICC since 2007. Prior to coming to NICC, Wee worked at Luther College for 15 years, first teaching in the Department of Economics and Business, then serving as Chair of the department. In 2001, he accepted the position of Associate Dean for Advising and Special Programs and Registrar.
Wee earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in management information systems, a Master's of business administration, and a Ph.D. in business administration, all from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
The NICC Board voted unanimously to offer the position to Dr. Wee. Board president Dr. Ken Reimer said all the board members have enjoyed working with Dr. Wee. "It was difficult to say 'no' to the other three candidates, but it was easy to say 'yes' to Dr. Wee," said Reimer.
In a statement released to the press, Dr. Wee said, "My colleagues and I will continue to maintain NICC's status as an Aspen Institute-ranked college through our quality programs and services. By educating students with diverse backgrounds and abilities, we enable them to achieve their dreams and to add value to their communities by leading fulfilling lives distinguished through life-long learning."
