Boyd e-mails: "Dear Mr. Answer Person: In late spring I inquired if the park would be completed by Nordic Fest. Now again I ask the same question, "Will the Water Street Park be completed by Nordic Fest?" Or, if you don't like the repeated question, I wonder if the park can be completed if the ground freezes and/or snow falls in any quantity? A home could be completed in less time that involves more detail and coordination. The contractor doesn't seem to have much control leading to the excessive delay."
Mr. Answer Person says: It must be difficult being a sidewalk superintendent! Yes, Boyd, there have been several delays in the project. Mr. Answer Person has already stated the latest delay is because the permeable pavers ordered for the park have not arrived yet.
However, you should soon be seeing crews return to the park area to complete the preparations needed before the pavers can be laid.
One last comment, Boyd. Mr. Answer Person has heard rumors that the latest delay is because the project has run out of money. That rumor, like so many other rumors, is false. Organizers are still raising money for the park, but they will soon announce details of another large donation. And the remaining money that needs to be raised is money that will pay for tables and benches and other amenities--the money needed to pay for the actual construction has long ago been raised.
