Painting exhibit opens Thursday at Luther College

Paintings by 1980 Luther College graduate Laura Hampton will be on display starting Thursday in the Kristin Wigley-Fleming Fine Arts Gallery in the Luther College Center for the Arts.

The exhibit focuses on the Canyon de Chelly, a region in northeastern Arizona where Hampton has spent the last 16 summers teaching and painting.  Hampton explains she was, "led into the new work by what is essentially held in my mind and soul, the spirit of a place. I have in one sense let go and roamed."

There will be a gallery reception for the artist from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 5th.  The exhibit and the artist's reception are both open to the public with no charge for admission.
