Ask Mr. Answer Person: "Is it safe to ride on the Trout Run Trail during hunting season?"

Philip e-mails Mr. Answer Person: "Is the trail around Decorah safe to use during hunting season?  Parts of the trail near the fish hatchery border a public hunting area."

Mr. Answer Person says: "Our readers ask the most interesting questions!  My first reaction was to pooh-pooh this question.  But then Mr. Answer Person remembered when he lived in Wisconsin and a hunter shot a cow!  (The hunter was from Chicago).

So I think the answer depends on the individual.  There are some readers who are going to laugh derisively at this question.  But there are others who will say they would never ride a bike near any area where hunters are hunting.

Mr. Answer Person would pursue a middle course--riding his bike during hunting season, but perhaps just on portions of the trail within the city limits.  And under no conditions would Mr. Answer Person wear a cow costume!
