Just in time for the upcoming visit of Norway's King and Queen, Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum will host a Museum Member Event—"A Special Look at the Norwegian Royal Family: History and Tradition" with John Christianson, Professor Emeritus of History at Luther College. Everyone is invited to become museum members and attend this Museum Member Event on October 2 at 7:00 p.m. The presentation will be held in the museum's Amdal-Odland Heritage Center at 523 W. Water Street and refreshments will be served.
"There are many advantages to being a member of Vesterheim, like free admission every day, store discounts, and "Vesterheim" magazine, but one of the most fun advantages is the opportunity to attend Museum Member Events," said Vesterheim Board Member Ron Fadness. New memberships will be accepted the night of the presentation, or contact Vesterheim anytime to join.
During the presentation, Christianson will discuss the development of the Royal Family in Norway, including details, protocol rules, and traditions associated with Norwegian Royalty.
The lecture is held in preparation for the visit of their Majesties King Harald V and Queen Sonja to Luther College and Vesterheim on Thursday, October 13. Details about the upcoming Royal Visit to Vesterheim and how everyone can participate will be announced soon.
