For over 30 years four Decorah men have quietly been helping the Decorah High School football program.

On Friday night Dave Luhman, Mark Albers, Dick Trytten and Denny Green got the recognition they richly deserve.  They were each presented with the "Friend of School Activities Award" from the Iowa High School Athletic Association.

That's because the four men have been the chain crew at home football games for 30 fall seasons.  The award, conferred just before Friday night's game, praised the four for the way "they have represented our school  and community with the utmost professionalism as they work with opposing teams and officials.

After accepting the awards, the four men did what they have been doing for over 30 years--they headed to the opposing team's sideline to begin the task of keeping track of downs and distances.
