NICC Calmar's Continuing Education Department is offering classes for people interested in becoming a real estate salesperson.
The Iowa Salesperson Pre-License course satisfies Iowa's 60-hour education requirement. The course will help prepare participants to take the Iowa Real Estate Licensing Exam.
Real estate professional Becky Martel will teach the class, which covers topics including agencies, zoning laws, legal descriptions, contracts, appraisals, taxation, trust accounts, financing and more.
The course will be held over four weekends: October 8th and 9th; October 15th and 16th; October 22nd and 23rd; and October 29th and 30th. The classes will run from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays and from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sundays at the NICC Calmar Campus.
In addition to this pre-license course, an applicant applying for an original Iowa salesperson license must also provide evidence of successfully completing the following real estate mandatory courses: Buying Practices (12 hours), Listing Practices (12 hours) and Developing Professionalism & Ethical Practices (12 hours). NICC has these courses scheduled at the Calmar campus for dates in November.
