Pulpit Rock Campground notes improvements

Decorah's Pulpit Rock Campground has made a number of changes.  The biggest improvement involves riprap that has been placed along the banks of the Upper Iowa River at the campground.  The rock is aimed at stabilizing the river bank at the campground.  The project also includes a number of grills installed along the river bank.

Also new at the campground is a small basketball court for the use of campers.

The improvements come at a time when usage of the campground has remained strong.  City officials say the campground took in $47,000 in camping fees in August.
