Decorah City Council will be getting another new member

Decorah City Council member Steve Matter will join fellow city council member Karen Tjossem in not seeking re-election this fall.  Matter serves as chairman of the city's Utilities Committee and also serves on the Properties and Purchasing Committee, Personnel Committee and Public Safety Committee.

Matter is stepping aside to allow a newcomer, Carolyn Corbin, to run for the position.  Corbin filed nomination papers for the position on Monday afternoon.  She is not expected to have opposition.
