The City of Decorah has hired Skyline Construction to work on a culvert project on the north side of Short Street--a project that is a necessary step in getting sidewalks along the street.
Skyline Construction of Decorah will be paid $83,977.57 to do the work. The company had the lowest of four bids submitted. The project had carried an estimated price tag of $105,000.
City officials are hoping much of the work can be done this fall, but the contract carries a June 1st, 2012 completion date.
