Two file to run for Decorah City Council at-large seat

There will now be a race for one of the three Decorah City Council seats up for election this fall.

Newcomer Gary Finholt of 607 Stanwood Drive in Decorah has filed nomination papers to run for one of two at-large seats on the city council.  He will face incumbent Rachel Vagts, who has also filed nomination papers. 

In the 2nd ward, Josh Spilde has filed papers to run for the seat now held by Karen Tjossem, who is not seeking reelection. In the 4th ward, no candidate has so far filed nomination papers.

All three members of the Decorah Parks and Recreation Board who are up for re-election this fall have filed nomination papers.
