"Dream Big, Grow Here" contest attracts five Decorah businesses

MyEntreNet and the Northeast Iowa Business Network are holding a contest through September 23rd to award $5,000 to the business with the best expansion idea.

Five Decorah businesses have entered the contest--including the businesses currently in first, fourth and fifth place.

Elisabeth Maurland's idea to produce textile and paper products for the home, based on designs she has created for her pottery, is current in first place with 2,458 votes.

Inspire(d) Media and Aryn & Benji Nichols are in fourth place with 1,062 votes; Shane Pinter and Pinter's Gardens and Pumpkins is in fifth place with 410 votes.

The two other Decorah businesses participating in the contest are Peter Awad (9th place with 170 votes) and Merill Guarneri (13th place with 123 votes)
