Luther College has added a central Iowa student shuttle that will take students to and from several stops at the beginning and end of each academic break. Stops include Cedar Falls, Williams, Ames and Ankeny.
Through the use of the shuttle program Luther hopes to make transportation to and from campus more convenient for more students, while at the same time encouraging students not to bring cars to campus.
The shuttle service has been developed in cooperation with Student Life and Campus Sustainability. Luther sustainability coordinator Dan Bellrichard said the cost of a one-way shuttle ticket will be between $20 and $35.
If the shuttle program continues to be popular, Luther will look at adding an eastern Iowa shuttle to service cities such as Cedar Rapids, Iowa City and the Quad Cities.
