Art exhibit opens Wednesday at Luther

An art exhibit by 2004 Luther College graduate Emily Gilbertson opens Wednesday at the Center for Faith and Life on the Luther campus.

One piece in the collection, titled "The Waiting Game," is a 2011 oil painting and collage on an antique wooden ironing board. The painting depicts the figure of an expecting mother.

Gilbertson served as an art teacher at Milton High School in Milton, Wisconsin.  She has previously served as studio manager for StoryPeople, organizing studio production for internationally recognized Brian Andreas.  She has also been an art instructor for LutherLag, Luther College's education and recreation summer program for alumni.  She has served as a visiting artist and guest lecturer at Luther College and the University of Wisconsin, Baraboo.
