Filing papers now available for City Council seats

Monday is the first day to file nomination papers for seats on the Decorah City Council.  The deadline for filing with the city clerk is 5 p.m. Thursday, September 22nd.

Three positions are up for election this fall.  In the city's 2nd Ward, incumbent Karen Tjossem has announced she will not seek re-election.  In the 4th Ward, incumbent Steve Matter says he has not yet decided whether to seek re-election.  For one of the city's two at-large seats, Rachel Vagts says she will definitely seek re-election.
