To show their gratitude to Decorah Airport Manager Mike Connell of Connell Flying Service, the crew of the White House's Blackhawk helicopter has given Connell a special picture.
The Blackhawk helicopter was based at the Decorah Airport late Monday afternoon and early Monday evening. A Nighthawk helicopter also was stationed at the airport.
The caption on the framed picture given to Connell states, "to Mike Connell, Connell Flying Service, for your dedicated support."
During President Obama's visit to Decorah, a "No Fly Zone" was put in place for the area 30 miles in every direction of the Decorah Airport. AWACS planes provided high altitude surveillance during the President's visit, while fighter jets provided lower level surveillance.
