Dave Galligan weighs in on CS White's recent comment that "I feel bikers over the age of 18 should need to license each bike in the state of Iowa to help with all the money that's been thrown at all the bike trails etc. When a lemonade stand needs a permit and a motorless canoe needs a license, why are bikes exempt?"
Responds Galligan: "Why stop at requiring licenses for bicycles? If you walk or even if you crawl on your belly you should also require a license. Additionally, if you have 4 legs instead of 2 your license should cost twice as much. Even simpler; if you breathe you should be required to have a license to do so. Just this morning I witnessed an entire family of raccoons waddling along the trail – an adult and at least half a dozen little ones following along behind. They all appeared to be walking AND breathing and not one of them was paying their fair share to use the trail. The outrage!"
