A contract has been awarded for the construction of the new Educational Center at the Decorah Fish Hatchery.

Scott Johanningmeier Construction of Decorah submitted the low bid of $280,292.  The Friends of the Fish Hatchery has budgeted $250,000, so a small amount of additional fundraising will be done.

Groundbreaking for the project has been scheduled for Saturday, August 27th.  The Friends of the Fish Hatchery has scheduled "The Second Annual Decorah Fish Hatchery Community Celebration" to run from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on that date.  As with last year's celebration, there will be a number of activities and food booths.  The actual groundbreaking will take place as part of a program at 5:30 p.m.
