City Administrator from Adel, Iowa is in negotiations for the Decorah City Manager job

A contract has not yet been signed, but the City Administrator in Adel, Iowa--Chad Bird--has been offered the job of Decorah City Manager.

Bird has worked since 2005 as City Administrator in Adel.  Before that he was the Director of the Parks and Recreation Department in DeWitt, Iowa.
 
Chad Bird has an MPA in Public Administration from Drake University and a BA in Communications from Valparaiso University.

In Adel he was a member of both the Lions Club and Rotary Club.

Bird will temporarily commute to Decorah if he takes the City Manager job, but intends to move to town.

Decorah City officials are still trying to hammer out the details of the contract with Bird.  If an agreement can be reached, the soonest it could be approved is at next Monday's city council meeting.  Bird will also be invited to attend next Monday's meeting.
