Three Decorah artists have received awards from Vesterheim Museum's annual "National Exhibition of Folk Art in the Norwegian Tradition."

Rosemaler Ruth Green received a Red Ribbon in Rosemaling for a chest painted in the Rogaland-style and a White Ribbon and People's Choice Award for a cupboard also painted in the Rogaland-style.

Woodworker Stan Finholt received an Honorable Mention Award in Woodworking for a turned bowl in cherry wood.

Weaver Betty Nelson received an Honorable Mention Award in Weaving for a table runner woven in doubleweave technique.

Each year, judges award Blue, Red, and White Ribbons representing points that accumulate over successive exhibitions toward a Vesterheim Gold Medal. Judges also present Honorable Mention Awards. Gold Medalists do not compete for ribbons, but they may submit pieces to be judged for a Best of Show Award.
