decorahnews.com has learned that President Barack Obama will visit Decorah next week.

The White House has announced plans for a three-day bus tour of the Midwest next week Monday through Wednesday.  As part of the bus tour, the President and members of his Cabinet will host the White House Rural Economic Forum at Northeast Iowa Community College in Peosta on Tuesday, August 16th.

decorahnews.com has learned that local law enforcement agencies have been alerted to beef up security on Wednesday, August 17th, for a possible presidential visit to Decorah.  Other sources tell decorahnews.com that Secret Service agents have been in contact with the Hotel Winneshiek.

There has been no official confirmation yet from the White House of next Wednesday's visit.  decorahnews.com will update the president's schedule as soon as the White House makes an announcement.
