Winneshiek County Sheriff Lee Bohr satisfied with present dog impoundment system

Winneshiek County Sheriff Leon Bohr says his department is satisfied with the way it handles dogs that need impoundment.

"We don't deal with that many dogs," Bohr told county supervisors on Monday, stating his department's current $1,500 budget for handling the costs of picking up dogs, including fees for housing dogs, seems to be adequate.

A couple of county supervisors had been asked questions by members of the public lately about the procedures used in picking up stray dogs, but Bohr told supervisors the present system seems to be adequate.
