Later this year Decorah will get a very big traveling billboard as a semi-trailer belonging to the State of Iowa's Alcoholic Beverages Division will be decorated with graphics about Decorah.
These trucks deliver liquor to licensees and travel many miles across Iowa to do so. The graphics on the semi will be made out of an adhesive vinyl 3M material with a life expectancy of seven years. The annual value for each trailer's advertising space is estimated to be around $60,000.
The trailer will illustrate what the Decorah area has to offer and why it is a great place to live, work and raise a family.
The ABD is partnering with the Department of Cultural Affairs and the Iowa Great Places program to create new semi tractor-trailer wraps. A semi-trailer promoting the Charles City area is making its first trek across Iowa this week.
