Hjelle files papers for run for Decorah School Board

Decorah resident John Hjelle has filed nomination papers for a spot on the Decorah School Board election ballot.

If elected, Hjelle would succeed Mona Nelson, who decided not to seek re-election after 15 years on the school board.

Two other spots on the school board are also up for election.  Both Brian Petersburg and Melanie Tietz have said they would seek re-election.

The filing deadline for all school board candidates is 5:00 p.m. Thursday.
