Norwegian consul tells Nordic Fest crowd: "Norway is resolute"

There was a serious moment at the 2011 Nordic Fest Opening Ceremonies on Thursday night--a moment of remembrance for the victims of the bombing in Norway.

Norwegian Consul Gary Gonrud told the Decorah audience, "the whole world has expressed sadness, but it is especially touching when it comes from an area where so many of its residents immigrated."

Gonrud said Norwegians are resolute in not letting the bombing change the nature of their country.  He quoted King Harald the Fifth, who advised Norwegians, "Do not let fear conquer us."
