"Camp Invention" draws a record 87 kids to Decorah Middle School

The largest group of kids ever to attend "Camp Invention" in Decorah were at the Decorah Middle School this week.

The programming is aimed at teaching kids how to work in teams to solve real-world challenges  Camp Invention uses hands-on activities to teach skills.

At Decorah Middle School, some of the activities included deciphering encoded messages and building a ball-rolling machine out of appliance parts and craft items.

The 87 kids participating were broken into five groups, with sessions running from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. every day this week.
