Winneshiek County Farm Service Agency Executive Director Julie Vulk says her agency can offer relief to producers affected by this week's extreme heat.

The Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) provides producers with benefits for livestock and poultry deaths in excess of normal mortality caused by adverse weather, the extreme heat.  "Many producers have lost turkeys, chickens, hogs and cattle and they need to know FSA has programs that offer relief when they need it most," said Vulk.

The deadline for producers who experienced death loss this week is August 19th.
