Winneshiek Celebration of Life provides another 12 free mammograms

Winneshiek County Celebration of Life has provided another 12 free mammograms this month.  That brings to 88 the number of free mammograms provided locally by the group this year.

Winneshiek Medical Center and Gundersen Lutheran - Decorah Clinic have been working with Winneshiek County Celebration of Life since 2009 to provide qualified women of Winneshiek County the opportunity for free mammogram screenings.  Free screenings are offered three times each year at each medical facility. 

Celebration of Life hosts an annual fundraising event in October at which the majority of the funds for the program are raised.  Donations from individuals, businesses, organizations and other groups are also used toward this free service.  

The next free screening will be held in November.  In order to qualify for the free screening, you must fill out an application by October 24th.  Applications are available at Winneshiek Medical Center, Gundersen Lutheran - Decorah Clinic, Margaret's Clothing in downtown Decorah and online at www.winneshiekcol.com
