Results of survey of Frankville residents will be done soon

Results should be calculated soon of a survey of Frankville residents, asking their opinions about a proposed water system for the community.

Winneshiek County officials sent out 55 certified letters to people living in Frankville, asking them whether they supported the plans or opposed them.  So far 45 of those residents have signed a card saying they received the information.  Friday was the postmark deadline to return letters to the courthouse with responses to the survey.  County officials want to know how many residents are opposed to the project—they will count the 45 people as being in support of the project, unless they receive surveys stating the resident's opposition.

Winneshiek County supervisors will meet next Monday to discuss the survey results.  The county board is expected to endorse the project if more than half of the survey responses are considered "yes" votes.
