Decorah resident Lea Donhowe Lovelace has been hired by Luther College as a visiting faculty member in the art department for the 2011-12 academic year.
Lovelace is currently founder and director of Little Master's Art Studio in Decorah and co-founder, co-director and artist instructor at the ArtHaus. As co-director of ArtHaus, Lovelace oversees all visual arts programming, including classes and workshops for youth and adults and bi-monthly art exhibitions featuring regional visual artists.
She also serves as a visual art instructor for Luther College's Lutherlag and Dorian Summer Camp programs and is an independent contractor developing and leading the Barnetimen Children's program for the Vesterheim Museum in Decorah.
Lovelace holds the bachelor's degree from Luther College and the master's degree in art education from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Lovelace previously served as visiting faculty at Saint Mary's University, teaching assistant at the School of Art Institute of Chicago, program director and instructor at the community-based arts organization Art Factory in Augusta, Georgia and manager of school programs at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.
