Library publicizes new policy about fines

Decorah Public Library officials are reminding the public that their policy about fines has been updated.

The new policy states, "Fines are calculated at $0.10 per day for books, magazines, books on tape or CD, music CDs, and puppets. Fines for VHS and DVD movies are $1.00 per day. The maximum fine per person shall not exceed the total replacement value of each item. Check-out of materials and computer usage will be denied to patrons with fines over $5.00."
