The Decorah City Council has set a $21,000 budget for the installation of pavers in the new Water Street Park. The funding for the project will come from donations raised by the Downtown Decorah Betterment Association, but since the park is being built on city-owned property, city council approval was needed.
City Engineer Lindsay Erdman says the final choice of paver styles "is still a moveable target," but he expects the pavers to cost $9,000 and the labor to install them to cost $12,000. The Decorah City Council on Tuesday night approved the $21,000 budget.
