Precipitation and average temperatures were both above normal in Decorah in June, according to Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz.
Bernatz says The high of 96 degrees on June 7th set a new record and the highs of 91 degrees on June 3rd and 92 degrees on June 4th tied the records. Overall, the average temperature for the month was 69.2 degrees, which was 1.3 degrees warmer than normal. That made June of 2011 the 38th warmest June in the 116 Junes for which temperature records have been kept in Decorah.
Total precipitation for June of 2011 was 5.10 inches. That was 0.48 inches more than the average precipitation. There were five days in June in which at least half an inch of rain fell. For the last 12 months, Decorah has a precipitation surplus of 8.37 inches above average.
