Accident near Spillville leads to traffic charges

A Fort Atkinson teenager has been charged with failure to maintain control of his vehicle after an accident on Thursday.

16-year-old Quinten Taylor was southbound on County W-14 around noon on Thursday when he went off the right shoulder of the road and lost control.  His car entered a ditch, hit an embankment and rolled over, damaging some corn crops.

Taylor was checked by first responders and sustained only minor injuries since he was wearing his seatbelt.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Decorah Police Dispatch, South Winneshiek First Responders, Calmar Fire Department and Winneshiek County Ambulance.
