The joint project between the City of Decorah and the Decorah School District to build six new tennis courts near John Cline School has gotten the blessing of the Decorah City Council.
Council members Monday night approved a 28E agreement with the school district that spells out the use of the new courts and the maintenance of the facility.
Decorah High School Athletic Director Adam Riley says the new design of the project calls for six double courts to be build along Claiborne Drive. The design will create additional green space for the John Cline playground, while serving as a barrier between the playground and traffic on Claiborne.
With the approval by the city council, the Decorah School Board will now get quotes on the construction of the courts.
