May weather was fairly average in Decorah

Weather in Decorah in May was pretty typical for this time of year.

Decorah weather observer Richard Bernatz says the daily average temperatures were-well--average.  Temperatures ranged from a high of 90 degrees on May 11th to 26 degrees on May 4th, but, taken as a whole, the temperatures averaged 58.6 degrees--which is exactly the average for the past 115 years.

Decorah received 3.78 inches of rain in May.  That was 0.37 inches less than the average May precipitation.  But Decorah still has a precipitation surplus of 10.85 inches over the past 12 months.
