The Decorah Fire Department was called out Friday afternoon to the Upper Iowa River to rescue a child trapped in a tree just up river from Chattahoochee Park.
Firefighters deployed their inflatable boat and used an all terrain vehicle to attempt to access the child from both the river and on land.
The child was found clinging to a tree that was hanging into the river. The child was pulled to shore and turned over to the WMC Paramedic Services.
The Decorah Fire Department was assisted by the Decorah Police Department and the WMC Paramedic Service.
