Fundraiser set for cancer patient Jerry Dean

Plans have been announced for a fundraising benefit on behalf of a Decorah man who has cancer.  Jerry Dean has been diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.  He is traveling to Rochester at least 5 days a week to get radiation treatment.  He is also currently on a low dose of chemotherapy.

Despite all the medical treatment, Dean is still running both Americana Grille and Club Pyramid and volunteering his time helping the Decorah High School drum line.

The cancer benefit will be held Saturday, July 9th, at Club Pyramid.  A Family Fun Day will run from 1 to 5, a Happy Hour from 5 to 7 and live entertainment and a raffle from 7 to 9.  Some prizes and auction items include: 4 Twins/White Sox tickets; 2 Regina Carter and dinner tickets Center Stage at Luther; $50 gift certificate, case of wine, polos from Rubaiyat; $50 gift certificate from Lynch BBQ; Print from Eckheart Gallery; 3 prints from Story People; month membership to Curves; as well as oil changes, haircuts, pizzas, sandwiches, manicures/pedicures, gift baskets, ice cream, photo sitting fees, and lots more.
