Two Decorah students do well at National History Day

Two Decorah students have received national ratings at the 2011 Kenneth E. Behring National History Day Contest at the University of Maryland.

Aidan Spencer and Clara Kittleson's Senior Group Documentary was titled "Can You Homeschool Legally?"   The two Decorah students were among 69 students from Iowa who attended the national contest.  32 of those students earned national ratings.  They are coached by Decorah Middle School teacher Janelle Keune.

The NHD program in Iowa has been coordinated by the State Historical Society of Iowa since 1994 and is sponsored by the State Historical Society, Inc., and The History Channel. More information about NHD in Iowa is available at www.iowahistory.org
