Decorah restaurant to add outdoor patio

The first outdoor patio allowed under a new Decorah city ordinance will be built at Don Jose Restaurant.

The Decorah City Council has given its approval to the structure, which will be built in front of the restaurant.  Contractor Craig Chyle says the patio will allow restaurant patrons to enjoy a drink while waiting to be seated inside the building—or they'll be able to eat their meal outdoors.

Construction of the patio is expected to be completed by Nordic Fest.
