City buys final piece of Trout Run Trail property

The last piece of property needed for the Trout Run Trail has been purchased.

The Decorah City Council has approved spending $16,900 for less than one acre of land owned by Brad and Carrie Spitzak along Highway 9.  The property is needed to build the bridge over Highway 9.

City Engineer Lindsay Erdman says he's hoping bids on the new bridge can be let this fall, with construction of the bridge in 2012.  Once the bridge is built, the entire Trout Run Trail will be complete.
