A Future Problem Solving team from the Decorah School District has finished 6th at FPS International competition in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The Senior Division Team of Eric Fulsaas, Shelby Varney, Paul Sullivan, and Lucas Blekeberg competed against 52 other teams in the Global Issues Packet Writing.   They took home 6th place--despite being the youngest grade level in their division.

Also competing at FPS Inernational was Decorah student Helen Johnson, who paired up with a student from Illinois and another from Kentucky to compete in the on-site Scenario Writing competition.  The students had two hours to create a four chapter story based on the same scenario presented to the team writers.  Helen and her team placed sixth out of the seven junior division teams.

The Decorah FPS teams are coached by middle school teacher Janelle Keune.   For more information about the program visit: http://www.fpspi.org
