State Representative Hager reminds residents of new laws

State Representative Bob Hager of Dorchester is reminding Northeast Iowa residents that several bills go into effect on Friday, July 1st.
 
Senate File 7 lowers the blood alcohol limit at which a boater is considered drunk.  The current standard is 0.10 percent—the new limit is 0.08 percent.  The law applies to operators of both motorboats and sailboats.

A new Texting Law approved in 2010 goes into effect July 1st, allowing law enforcement offices to give tickets for texting while driving.
