The Decorah PTO has kicked off an effort to add books to the John Cline Library.
But even though the group has donated $10,000 towards this effort, the school library is still very short compared to even the minimum national average.
"We want this to continue to work towards reaching the goal of bringing the library to that standard" said D.J.Friest of Friest and Associates, which has agreed to act as a collection point for all donations.
According to the PTO it will take $150,000 to reach its goal of having an adequate number of books in the library. Friest says checks may be made to Decorah Community Schools and dropped off at Friest and Associates Realtors at 110 Court Street or at the Decorah Community Business Office at 510 Winnebago Street.
