Officials: Check your E-911 signs

Winneshiek County Sheriff Lee Bohr is asking the public to make sure their E-911 signs are visible for emergency responders.

Bohr is asking people to check for weeds and brush and to make sure the address signs are visible from the roadway.  He says sometimes the signs are not visible because things have grown around them--making it difficult for emergency responders to see.

Also, county officials say if you're missing an E-911 address sign at your home, you should contact the Winneshiek County Engineer's Office at (563) 382-2951.
