The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Chapter at Northeast Iowa Community College's Calmar campus has received a Five Star Chapter designation, the highest honor awarded to chapters in the organization.
It's the seventh consecutive year the organization has won the award for its scholarly work and service in the community.
Calmar campus Phi Theta Kappa members make an impact by volunteering for Better World Books, Relay for Life, the Heart Connection, Ronald McDonald House, Project Graduation, Operation Green, Cuddle for Cancer and college diversity initiatives.
The Five Star Chapter award represents a development plan for campus and civic involvement. The honor is the top achievement for a chapter as it progresses through a five-step process.
