Memorial Day observed in Decorah

The families of the 322nd Engineer Company based in Decorah and deployed to Afghanistan were the Grand Marshals of this year's Memorial Day observance in Decorah on Monday.

Ceremonies at the courthouse included the reading of the names of the deceased veterans of Winneshiek County who have passed away since last Memorial Day.  The program also included recognition of  all veterans present, who stood on the courthouse steps while their individual service anthems were played...and a flyover by the 132nd Fighter Wing, Iowa Air National Guard.
