Volunteers helped city workers distribute and put the downtown flower baskets up on Thursday morning.
It's the 14th year of the program, which started in 1998 and is run by Downtown Decorah Betterment Association.
This year, 210 flower baskets will be hung from College Drive to East Water Street. Each flower basket is watered twice daily—in the morning by paid high school students and in the evening by a group of volunteers.
In addition to Downtown Decorah Betterment Association, the Decorah Street Department, Decorah Greenhouses and the SSMID District Board also contribute to the flower basket program.
